First, rinse the area with warm water and then apply a cold pack to reduce swelling. Use gauze to stop any bleeding. If you can place a lost permanent tooth back in the mouth, do it. If not, keep the tooth in a container of milk or saltwater to keep it moist as you get to the dentist.
Stocking Up on Healthy Snacks
Ice cream and popsicles are popular sugary snacks during summer. If your child is going to eat these foods, make sure they brush their teeth afterwards, or at the very least swish water around in their mouth. However, it’s best to offer healthier options such as fruits and veggies. Replacing sugary sodas with water is another way to prevent your kid from getting cavities this summer.
